No Nepal for me :-(

February 19, 2009

Unfortunately, I won’t be going to Nepal.. with my back all wack, the Lord is telling me to use this time to rest.. but also to realign our dissemiNATION model so that it can be workable in a real life situation where the value is seen in terms of how our video work can bring more of a missional mindset to our saints. In the meantime, Amy is off to Mexico on a short term mission trip so hopefully we’ll have some cool video to see soon! I’ll be resting and also focusing more on solidifying the groundwork for dissemiNATION and the Amplified Film Festival. Until the next time, we’ll keep you posted!!

Nepal Mission Trip is ON!!

January 20, 2009

Woo-hoo! I’m so stoked to find out from Timmy that I’ll be heading out to Nepal from May  16-30th!! The purpose of this trip would be  bring the Love of Jesus Christ to the remote Himalayan village of Nessing (and surrounding villages) through medical care.

Our hope is to share the Good News to the many unreached people in the mountains of Nepal (many are Buddhist).  We will partner with Pastor Shem Lepcha who is a part of Dakbari Singhati Church (Vineyard church) located in Kathmandu.

We are working on how we will formulate the first dissemiNATION video and infuse a missional culture within the church through it! Would be awesome if the Lord opened up a door for Amy to come report on God’s work in Nepal but we’ll see what happens. Either way, we are stoked to start to plan how we will put together this very important video!

Blessings,

Alex

Luke 8:15 – “The seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart – who hear the word, retain it – and by persevering produce a good crop.”

Thank you, Father God for the seeds that you produce for us – and how you are able to make our hearts and spirits worthy enough to receive them and accept something so great. I know that within my spirit – it is easy to become prideful and think that my spirit resembles good soil at all times when in reality it always full of rocks and thorns. This represents my spiritual immaturity.. wanting to go about my own ways even though I hear and receive Your Word.

To take it a step further, we worry so much about how our good soil appears to ourselves and others – but we take no time to cultivate our own soil nor invest in cultivating good soil in others. I believe that when our energies are focused on carrying out the Lord’s work – putting forth our attention on the harvest – as our minds divert away from fooling ourselves to appear godly (pride, selfishness, etc. etc. etc. – anything that prevents the Lord’s word from sinking and resounding) and is also when our spirits become fully broken. It is when our heart’s desire becomes more about how we can plant the Word of God into our saints and nurture their soil to become fertile is when the very same thing happens within our own souls. By the fruits of the spirit, this proves to be the best irrigation to our souls all around that the things of this world cannot water.

Father – thank You for this revelation that You have gifted me with today. Let Your words come off as more than just merely spoken or written words and in turn be planted in and sprouted through the soil of my life which You are constantly cultivating. I need to live Your Word. Let my heart constantly sow Your seeds of abundance within our saints and use what You have given me to reach the nations in an unreal and divine way – that only through Your strength can we boast about and let others know about the greatness and glory of all that You are. Put Your annointing on the vision You have given to me and make me more in Your Son’s image for others to draw closer in their love relationship to Our Savior. Disseminate Your seeds in and through our spirits and cast away all other false motives so that dissemiNATION can take place in Your Timing, in Your Way, in Your Name.

Amen.
